The latest person to join the protest is Netflix series Sacred Games fame Elnaaz Norouzi. The Iran-born actress expressed her outrage through an Instagram post.
Known for her amazing acting skills, the actress has joined the massive protest by women against Iran’s “morality police” by asserting their right to wear anything they want..
Posting a video on Instagram, Elnaaz joined the protest by stripping several layers of clothes to make a point about what she wants to wear and no one can stop her.
The caption of her video read: “Every woman, anywhere in the world, regardless of where she is from, should have the right to wear whatever she desires and when or wherever she desires to wear it. No man nor any other woman has the right to judge her or ask her to dress otherwise.”
“Everyone has different views and beliefs and they have to be respected. Democracy means the power to decide…Every Woman should have the power to decide over her own body. I am not promoting nudity, I am promoting freedom of choice,” she added.
On the professional front, Elnaaz is an international model and appears in movies. She has modelled for brands like Dior, Lacoste and Le Coq Sportive, to name a few. She is also a trained Persian traditional dancer and has been learning Kathak.
Worth mentioning, Mahsa Amini, 22, was picked up by the morality police in Tehran on September 16. Three days later, she was declared dead. She was brutally beaten up due to morality police and suffered serious injuries that eventually led to her death.
Her death, which activists say was caused by a blow to the head, has set off a wave of protests as women have been burning their hijab headscarves and cutting their hairs.
